Hand-Made Wool Hats

I knit because wool speaks to me. Sometimes it wants to keep a head warm. Sometimes it wants to warm the hands. Other times it wants to be an adornment that makes the wearer strut like a peacock. It is such fun to simply guide the wool to its true form.

My Story

My story: My mom taught me to knit about the same time I learned to walk. I had a plastic contraption called a spinning wheel. It didn’t spin. It was the original version of a circle loom. I could knit 1” diameter tubes all day long. We glued them into shapes to make pot holders and rugs.

By about age 5, I graduated to scarves on real knitting needles. Although I have learned many craft skills, yarn remains my passion.

But really… how many yarn gifts can you give your friends before they unfriend you. How many Afghans does one house need? That is when I tried selling hats at a totally unrelated seminar I was teaching. I set the hats on a table and it was like a feeding frenzy. That was it, I was hooked. I could watch people transform into peacocks, see them feel good about themselves, and make some money to buy more yarn. WOW I hit the trifecta. So my sweet husband strongly encouraged “Heartfelt With Wool” so that more people could experience my wool creations.
